Hello everyone,
After delving into the insightful TED talks and valuable ideas shared by my peers, I am excited to approach the transformation in Spanish education from my unique viewpoint.
The notion that common sense can hinder behavior change resonated strongly. The complexity of the process, as discussed in the videos, goes beyond what intuition might suggest. Acknowledging the myths surrounding behavior change and embracing more sophisticated approaches is crucial.
Observing the connection between change recommendations and the Influencer's Model of Six Sources of Influence, I see the importance of addressing personal, social, and structural factors. This holistic approach aligns perfectly with my project of creating an online Spanish 1 class, where customization, social engagement, and effective structure are essential.
My desired outcomes in this project revolve around increased participation, language understanding, and student satisfaction. To identify vital behaviors, I will adopt key strategies: noticing the obvious, looking for crucial moments, learning from positive deviants, and spotting culture busters. Each step will be guided by the desire to establish an online learning environment where students learn Spanish and enjoy and fully engage.
Speculating on using the Six Sources of Influence, I envision a strategic blend that leverages personal motivation, personal ability, social motivation, social ability, structural motivation, and structural ability. This amalgamation of influences will be the driving force behind the positive change I aspire to achieve.
In summary, my project presents an exciting opportunity to challenge common perceptions and apply innovative approaches to maximize the impact of online Spanish learning.
