Contribution to Your Learningand the Learning Community.

The role of a self-directed learner is essential in the constantly changing landscape of education. As Fink (2013) says, "Students must learn how to assess the quality of their work" to become successful in life. This essay serves as a self-assessment of my contributions to my learning and the learning community, using a marking guide for evaluation.
For the course "Applying Educ Tech: Portfolio" (Course Code: 5303), I have assigned myself a score of 95, falling within the 90-100 range of the self-assessment marking guide. This score is centeres around the key contributions and supporting contributions to the learning community.

Key Contributions:
I actively participated in my core collaboration group, engaging in constructive discussions and providing valuable feedback. Revising assignments and reflecting on these revisions became a cornerstone of my contributions to learning activities. My commitment to completing all course readings, videos, and supporting resources demonstrated my dedication to learning. Meeting various activity deadlines indicated in the calendar showcased my time management skills.

Supporting Contributions:
Assuming leadership responsibility within my base group and the course, I endeavored to foster a collaborative environment. Active participation in all activities and timely postings in forums facilitated meaningful interactions. My contributions extended beyond research-based postings; I also aimed to enrich the learning experience with additional insightful comments.

Accelerated ADL Option Reflection:
Given the dual enrollment in two ADL courses simultaneously, I successfully combined reflections from both courses. This integration was more than just contrasting; instead, it involved a thoughtful exploration of how collaborations impacted the connection of ideas between the two courses. This approach not only streamlined my reflections but also enhanced the synergy of ideas, presenting a unified perspective.

While my self-assigned score of 95 reflects a high level of commitment, I acknowledge areas for improvement. The nature of self-directed learning encourages a continuous growth mindset. To enhance my contributions further, I aspire to delve even deeper into collaborative efforts, fostering an environment where diverse perspectives amplify the learning experience.

I consistently collaborated with the following members of my base group community:
Rosty Tovar, my friend, has been my source of strength, inspiring me to believe that anything is possible because we are God's favored daughters. She encouraged me to take on this challenge and illuminated my path when I felt lost with her constant guidance. Her friendship is a precious gift that I sincerely appreciate.
Kayla Miller, my groupmate in classes 5303-5305, created a group on Microsoft Teams. I appreciate her leadership in establishing this communication space, which has been extremely helpful. I could share my first evaluation with her, which, unfortunately, didn't go well; realizing that I was not alone in facing challenges provided the necessary calm to start anew. Kayla's support and the collaborative environment she has fostered have been invaluable.
Danny Hernandez, also my classmate from 5303, thank you for agreeing to join me.
Monica Osio and Willian Tavarez, you are my pillars of support in Spanish, just a phone call away. Thank you for always answering my calls and guiding me. Your presence and assistance mean a lot to me.

In the course "Disruptive Innovation in Tech" (Course Code: 5305), I have assigned myself a score of 85, placing me within the 80-89 range of the self-assessment marking guide.

Key Contributions:
My contributions in this course spanned active participation in core collaboration groups and adherence to activity deadlines. As highlighted in collaborative discussions, I demonstrated adaptability in combining insights from "Blended Using Disruptive Innovations to Improve Schools" videos and real-world classroom challenges.

Supporting Contributions:
While maintaining leadership responsibilities, I participated in forums and ensured timely postings for interactive discussions. My contributions reflected both breadth and depth of thinking, supported by relevant research and proper APA citations.

However, I acknowledge the need to meet supporting contributions. External factors occasionally hindered timely postings, impacting the responsiveness of the learning community.
In conclusion, these self-assessments show my engagement and contributions in the respective courses. They serve as benchmarks for continuous improvement, acknowledging achievements while identifying areas for refinement. As I progress in my educational journey, the commitment to self-directed learning remains unwavering, fueled by the understanding that assessing one's work is pivotal for growth and lifelong learning.
The average of my overall grade is 90, and I've gained a deeper understanding of what was previously unknown. This newfound knowledge serves as motivation for further learning.
